Iowa stayed active in the 2024 recruiting cycle, offering EDGE and defensive end Owen Wafle out of the Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey. Wafle is regarded as a four-star product by both 247Sports and Rivals.
247Sports ranks Wafle as the nation’s No. 218 player overall in the 2024 class, the No. 18 EDGE and the fourth-best player from the state of New Jersey. Meanwhile, Rivals rates Wafle as the No. 182 player nationally, the No. 12 strong side defensive end and the No. 4 player from the state of New Jersey.
The 6-foot-3, 270 pound defensive lineman already owns an impressive offers sheet. In addition to Iowa, Boston College, Kent State, Massachusetts, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse and West Virginia have offered.
Iowa already has commitments from the top three 2024 in-state products according to 247Sports in offensive lineman Cody Fox, linebacker Cam Buffington and athlete Derek Weisskopf. The Hawkeyes’ 2024 class is currently ranked No. 3 nationally by 247Sports and No. 4 by Rivals.
Iowa has been busy dishing out offers in the 2024 cycle. Beginning with an April 2 offer to Omaha, Neb., athlete Caleb Benning, the Hawkeyes have offered a number of talented recruits. Along with Benning, Iowa has since offered tight end Christian Bentancur, running back Jordan Marshall, offensive lineman Ian Moore, athlete Preston Ries and athlete Emmett Mosley.
