USA TODAY Sports projects Drake London’s NFL landing spot

April is mock draft month. You won’t have to read mock drafts for the next 10 months or so after the final flurry of last-minute projections for the 2022 NFL draft.

Drake London is, for many analysts, the best receiver in the draft. However, some analysts have Garrett Wilson of Ohio State as the first receiver off the board. That’s one of many intriguing plot points in Thursday’s first round.

USA TODAY Sports and its team of NFL draft analysts provided a final mock draft on the first round alone. Day 2 and Day 3 can wait. Let’s focus on Thursday night and the picks which will grab the most attention.

Drake London, in this mock draft, is going to the Philadelphia Eagles at pick No. 15. We do think London is a top-15 pick, so this projection does not veer wildly from the general consensus:

The Eagles are craving a big wide receiver who can get up for 50-50 balls and take some of the pressure off DeVonta Smith. As a former basketball player, even at Southern Cal his freshman year, London knows how to use his 6-foot-4 height, much like Alshon Jeffery did.

The fun starts Thursday. Angelenos and other West Coast viewers can watch the draft, beginning at 5 p.m. on ESPN.
