Finished the 2021 season with an average of 51.19 yards per punt, breaking the NCAA record. Araiza had 79 punts and 4,044 punt yards that season. Named the winner of the Ray Guy Award for the nation’s best collegiate punter in 2021.
2 – Versatile special teams player
Araiza finished his career at San Diego State as one of the school’s best special teams players. He served as the team’s kicker, kickoff specialist and punter.
Araiza is the first punter selected since John Nies in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft.
