7 players New York Giants could sign to replace James Bradberry

The New York Giants have parted ways with star cornerback James Bradberry due to salary cap constraints. His release leaves the Giants with a major hole at corner but don’t look for them to go shopping in the high rent district to find his replacement.

The Giants are likely to sign a veteran corner to a one-year deal at the minimum or something similar.

Here are seven names the Giants could consider.

Janoris Jenkins

Janoris Jenkins, or “Jackrabbit” as he likes to be called, was released by the Tennessee Titans in March and has yet to sign on with a team. He’s 33 now and is not the player he once was, but the Giants don’t really need him to be. They just need a veteran placeholder for 2022.

Chris Harris Jr.

Chris Harris Jr., a four-time Pro Bowler, will also will be 33 this year. He was nicked up the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers after a long successful stretch with the Denver Broncos.

Joe Haden

Joe Haden, another 33-year-old, was most recently with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His performance fell off last year and he is still a free agent at this time. Whether or not he wants to come to the Giants on a team-friendly deal is iffy.

Trae Waynes

Trae Waynes, 29, was released by the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals in March and has not been signed by another team since. He did not play in 2020 and played in just five games last season.

Kyle Fuller, 30, is out in Denver after one season. He got benched during the season due to poor play and started just 10 games. Also another player who might not want to play for the veteran minimum.
