Tigers land Memphis transfer, sign Craig McDonald

Bryan Harsin and the rest of Auburn’s coaching staff continue to do work in the transfer portal.

The Tigers landed their eighth transfer of the offseason Wednesday night when former Memphis defensive lineman Morris Jospeph Jr. committed to the Tigers. That wasn’t the only news out of the portal for Auburn, they officially signed former Iowa State safety Craig McDonald.

It wasn’t just the football program making moves on Wednesday, the men’s golf team clinched their 25th appearance in the NCAA Championships. Garrett Farhuhar was honored by the SEC for his great work in the community and in the classroom.

Morris Joseph Jr. commits to Auburn

Auburn addressed another position of need through the transfer portal Wednesday night, landing former Memphis defensive lineman Morris Joseph Jr.

The 6-foot-2, 275-pounder appeared in 35 games for Memphis and helps shore up the depth along the interior of the defensive line. He made 117 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks in his three years at Memphis.

Morris, who visited Auburn last weekend, has one more season of eligibility and is the second transfer interior defensive lineman Auburn has landed this offseason, following former Oregon defensive tackle Jayson Jones.

Craig McDonald officially signs with Auburn

Auburn officially signed Iowa State safety transfer Craig McDonald Wednesday night.

McDonald, who has three seasons of eligibility remaining, brings experience to a group that is looking to replace two contributors from last season and was expected to turn to several inexperienced underclassmen.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder appeared in 11 games last season, making 41 tackles and two interceptions. He should be competing with Cayden Bridges, Caleb Wooden, and Marquise Gilbert for the second starting spot alongside Zion…
