True Freshman Jarred Kerr is listed as both a safety and athlete according to various recruiting sites after spending a majority of his early playing career as verstatile utility player, playing offense and defense for Lextington High School in Lexington, Texas. Lexington, only an hour so away from College Station, gave Kerr the opportunity to be the star for a smaller program, immeditiatly making a name for himself during his 2019 sophomore season being named District 8-3A D-II Overall MVP after accounting for 55 tackles, 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries to on defense, and 1,375 yards rushing and 19 total touchdowns on offense. During his 2020 junior season, he finished with and astounding 114 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 forced fumble at the safety positon, and was name as a District 13-3A first-team selection.
