The Indianapolis Colts roster has changed plenty from the beginning of the new league year, which officially commenced March 16. The moves made had a major impact on the team’s salary cap.
While the Colts are still in a strong standing position when it comes to working with salary-cap space if they need it, there have been a number of players added to the roster whose new contracts make the list look a bit different going into the 2022 season.
While the 2022 rookie class has signed their four-year deals, none of them register as top-20 salary-cap hits. The same goes for Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr., both of which are still on their rookie deals and are extension eligible following the 2022 season.
It should be noted that the contract details for quarterback Nick Foles, offensive tackle Dennis Kelly and running backs Phillip Lindsay and Ty’Son Williams haven’t been revealed yet. So, it remains to be seen if any of their deals will crack the top-20 cap hits.
