Georgia football is among the top eight schools for elite class of 2023 recruit Monteque Rhames. The four-star defensive lineman plays high school football for Sumter High School in Sumter, South Carolina.
Rhames, the fourth-ranked recruit in South Carolina, considers South Carolina, Coastal Carolina, NC State, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, UCF, and Virginia Tech to be his top eight schools. The Sumter star is the No. 47 defensive line recruit in the country and the No. 318 overall recruit.
Monteque Rhames is 6 feet, 6 inches and 240 pounds and has received a scholarship offer from Alabama since naming his top eight schools. He has taken recent visits to UNC, Alabama, and South Carolina.
The rising senior an impressive wingspan and is continuing to add to his frame. Based on his size, Rhames could play as a 4-3 defensive end or 3-4 outside linebacker in college.
On film, Rhames is strong against the run. He sets a strong edge and does a good job of getting penetration into the opposing backfield.
The four-star pass rusher removed West Virginia, Michigan State, UNC, and Louisville from his previous list of top schools.
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have eight commitments in the class of 2023. Georgia has one commitment from an edge rusher in four-star Gabriel Harris and one defensive line commit.
