Later this month, we are going to find out the final destination for 5-star quarterback Jaden Rashada. It’s safe to say that his recruitment is coming down to the wire.
Rashada, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 5 QB and No. 29 player in the 2023 class, has set a commitment date of June 18. He is currently down to seven finalists for his commitment — Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, and California.
So what are the Ducks’ chances of actually landing Rashada and getting an elite passer in the 2023 recruiting cycle? According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it’s a tight race between four teams, but the Ducks are among the leaders.
At the moment, On3 believes that Florida holds the edge to land Rashada, but Oregon is right behind them with a 22.6% chance. Texas A&M and Miami are not far behind the leaders.
Of course — as is the case in today’s day and age — a lot of Rashada’s ultimate decision is going to come down to NIL, and which school will offer him the most money to play for their program. The going rate seems like it will be at least 7 figures, so it will be interesting to see who is willing to play ball over the next couple of weeks as a bidding war is sure to take place.
For Duck fans, there should be confidence that Oregon is going to be in the mix down to the wire, but it’s too early on in the world of NIL to have a good feeling for exactly how high they are willing to pay for an unproven QB like Rashada.
