LSU has seen one more infielder enter his name into the transfer portal. This time, it’s Collier Cranford.
Cranford committed to playing for LSU out of in-state Zachary High School in 2019. He was rated as the No. 11 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 3 shortstop in the state. In his three seasons at LSU, Cranford played in 77 games and had a batting average of .158 with 19 hits, 16 RBI, 13 walks and 27 runs scored.
LSU has lost a handful of players to the transfer portal in the last week or so since the season came to an end in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Looking ahead to 2023, the Tigers are definitely lacking in positional depth.
It will be interesting to see what coach Jay Johnson does in the transfer portal to try and fill some open spots on the roster.
