Following their most successful season in a decade, the hype surrounding the Arkansas Razorbacks heading into the 2022 football season is definitely spiking.
The increased buzz is warranted, as head coach Sam Pittman has rebuilt the culture in Fayetteville, and has changed the perception of Arkansas football across the nation. It also helps that team returns one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country to go along with one of the hardest-hitting linebackers on defense.
Those two playmakers, KJ Jefferson and Bumper Pool, will play a huge role in the success of the team this season, as they are considered to be leaders of their respective units.
Pat Dooley of Gators Wire recently ranked the 12 best players in the SEC, and included two of Arkansas’ stars on the list. Pool checks in at the highest-rated linebacker in the conference, coming in at No. 7. For Jefferson, he ranks No. 5, and is the second-highest quarterback behind reigning Heisman Trophy winner from Alabama, Bryce Young.
