Arkansas Football is expected to make great strides in 2022, mostly because of quarterback KJ Jefferson.
Jefferson threw for 21 touchdowns last season and is expected to exceed those numbers in 2022. Following the departure of top receiver treylon burks to the NFL, the big question surrounding Jefferson is, who will he be throwing to?
The easy answer seems to be Oklahoma transfer, Jadon Haselwood. During his time as a Sooner, Haselwood reeled in 39 catches for 399 yards and six touchdowns. He has high potential, as he was the top receiver in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
But, there is another receiver that is not getting the attention he deserves… yet.
Ketron Jackson caught five passes for 97 yards last season as a freshman for the Razorbacks. He will become more functional in the Arkansas offense this season, thus turning him into a more popular player says Pat Dooly of Gators Wire.
In his list titled “12 top SEC players you probably aren’t familiar with“, as part of his “Dooly’s Dozen” series, Dooly ranks Jackson No. 9. Dooly believes that SEC football fans will see Jackson’s potential this season.
Jackson could be one of the best athletes in the SEC and this year he will have an opportunity to show it after only recording five catches as a true freshman wide receiver. He reminds me of some of the bigger receivers in this league except he’s probably faster than most of them.
Arkansas Football opens the 2023 season at home on September 3 against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
