Well, the USFL to NFL news sure is flowing this morning. Yesterday, we reported that five defensive linemen from the USFL (including Doug Costin) held workouts with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As training camps inch closer, the Steelers tried out five players who played in the USFL this year:
* DT Doug Costin
* DE Freedom Akinmoladun
* DT Domenique Davis
* DT Dondrea Tillman

Now, Pittsburgh has announced that they signed Doug Costin, who won the USFL Championship in 2022 with the Birmingham Stallions.

Costin has been signed to a one year deal with the Steelers. In the USFL, he did not see a ton of playing time. That being said, he racked up nine tackles, and certainly impressed enough in his tryout to earn a contract.

This isn’t his first experience with an NFL organization. After a few successful years at Miami, Costin joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, spending 2020-2021 with the team.
Now, he gets a chance to revive his NFL career after making a stop in the USFL with Birmingham. You can stay up to date on all the USFL players moving to the NFL with our official tracker.
