Raiqwon O’Neal ranked top 10 offensive line transfer

According to On3, Raiqwon O’Neal was one of the biggest offensive line transfers in college football this offseason. As such, the former Rutgers football left tackle could well be in a position to parlay a strong season at UCLA into hearing his name called in next April’s NFL draft.

O’Neal is loaded with experience. Over four years at Rutgers, he made 32 appearances with 21 starts. Last season, he had nine starts in 11 games for the Scarlet Knights. He also had a big man touchdown that made highlights across the country for his impressive athleticism.

After Rutgers brought in four transfers along the offensive line this offseason, including two projected tackles, O’Neal entered the transfer portal. At UCLA, O’Neal’s athleticism and quickness will be well-suited for head coach Chip Kelly’s offense.

O’Neal checked in at sixth in On3’s list of most impactful offensive line transfers:

O’Neal (6-4, 305) did not go through spring practice and will be one of three new starters up front for the Bruins, so how quick the line comes together bears watching in preseason camp. Still, the early-season schedule is such (Bowling Green, Alabama State and South Alabama) that the group will be able to ease into the season. O’Neal is a talented pass protector but needs to upgrade his run blocking.

UCLA went 8-4 last season.

Rutgers is projected to start Willie Tyler (Louisiana-Monroe) and J.D. DiRenzo (Sacred Heart) at the tackle positions this offseason. Both came to Rutgers football via the transfer portal.
