The running game has always been critical to the Penn State program in it’s history when it comes to finding success. In recent years they have shied away from that approach but with the recruiting of Nick Singleton that page may be coming back to being a focal point.
The 5-star recruit from Reading, PA hopes that he can rejuvenate the offense of the team he grew up rooting for. Singleton has the size and speed combination to be a real threat in not just the college game but eventually the NFL.
For now, Singleton will be sharing the load with Keyvone Lee as they work to bring some balance to the Penn State offense. Get an idea of what the 2022 season may look like for Nick Singleton though, it could be a special one.

Easily the biggest question facing really Nick Singleton and this coaching staff is simple, how much are they going to use him this year and beyond. For several years now they have used running back committee’s and when it comes to Singleton that just won’t work. We saw it last year with Ohio State and TreyVeon Henderson, they used him from day one and he became a difference maker in that offense. Without him, the Buckeyes offense would have sputtered all year the same way Penn State’s will if they don’t utilize him.
It can’t be overstated enough, Singleton can be the grease that turns the wheel of this offense.
2022 will be a success if…

Mike Yurcich and this offense can find success if they at least work Singleton into the mix of carries at running back. While it would be ideal that he becomes the workhorse, he is still going to be a freshman. Despite that fact, his build and maturity have him ready for the work.
