KJ joined the Stars midway through the season, to back up Case Cookus after Bryan Scott went down. He didn’t see much playing time during the first few weeks – but, ended up filling in during the playoffs at multiple points.

In the Championship game against Birmingham, Cookus broke his leg – which left Costello with no choice but to run the offense. Outside of a couple of interceptions, it was a decent performance given the circumstances. He did throw a late touchdown to Chris Rowland which kept Philadelphia in the game.
