Seven things to watch in the preseason finale

The Eagles are just hours away from kicking off their preseason finale against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Philadelphia is expected to rest their starters and key reserves with the 53-man roster cutdowns scheduled for Tuesday, August, 30.

With the Eagles having participated in joint practice sessions over the past two weeks, Philadelphia will look to settle several important roster battles with one last showing.

Here are seven things to watch on Saturday night.

How many quarterbacks will play?

Nick Sirianni is unsure whether the Eagles will keep two or three quarterbacks on the roster, and the snap count for Saturday night will tell a lot about Philadelphia’s plan.

There’s no reason for Gardner Minshew to play, meaning Reid Sinnett and Carson Strong should each get one half of football.

Will Jalen Reagor play?

Reagor is in competition for duties on kickoff and punt return, but if the former first-round pick isn’t in uniform on Saturday night, he’ll either earn a roster spot or potentially be traded.

Kennedy Brooks headlines the show?

The Eagles running game always travels, and with Miles Sanders nursing a hamstring injury, will Philadelphia risk injury to Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell?

Saturday could provide a showcase opportunity for undrafted rookie Kennedy Brooks, with Jason Huntley has performed in regular season action during his brief career.

Britain Covey needs a huge performance

An early training camp darling, Covey has slowed since suffering a thumb injury and will need a solid special teams performance at a minimum to warrant Philadelphia keeping five or six receivers on the roster.

How are snaps on offensive line divided?

Philadelphia currently has 14 offensive linemen on the roster, and with the starters expected to sit, which of the nine reserves will start and who’ll be odd men out in a stacked group?

Saturday could become an audition for opportunities elsewhere, although a practice squad with the Eagles could catapult a player to more excellent pastures.
