College Wires predict Week 1 SEC winners

After a long, long wait, it’s finally time to fully kick off the 2022 season.

We had a slate of games during last weekend’s “Week 0” to tide us over, but only one SEC team — Vanderbilt, which stomped Hawaii 63-10 on the road — took the field. But all 14 teams will be in action this weekend, headlined by high-profile matchups such as Oregon vs. Georgia, Utah at Florida and Florida State vs. LSU.

There will be a lot to watch for, and it begins on Thursday night as Tennessee and Missouri begin their campaigns with Group of Five matchups against Ball State and Louisiana Tech, respectively.

Here’s how our group of experts on the USA TODAY Sports College Wire network see league teams faring this weekend.
