Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams will have surgery on his injured quad and will miss the rest of the regular season, according to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network. He will be placed on the injured reserve list.
Adams suffered the injury early in his team’s Week 1 win over the Broncos. After bringing down Russell Wilson on a blitz, Adams came up after the play limping. He was immediately carted off to the locker room and did not return to the game.
This is the latest in a string of major injuries for Adams since he was traded from the Jets. Adams missed four games last season due to shoulder injuries after missing the same amount the prior season for a similar issue. Adams also broke his finger on the first practice of training camp this year.
Seattle is signing cornerback Teez Tabor off the Falcons’ practice squad to take Adams’ place on the roster, per Rapoport.
