Griffin out with hip injury


INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Shaquill Griffin is the Jaguars’ first significant injury of the season.

Griffin, a starter at cornerback in the first two games of the season, will miss the Jaguars’ Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium Sunday afternoon. The sixth-year veteran was declared inactive an hour and a half before kickoff.

Griffin was added to the injury report with a hip injury Friday.

Active cornerbacks for the Jaguars Sunday:

  • Tyson Campbell
  • Darious Williams
  • Tre Herndon
  • Chris Claybrooks
  • Rookie Montaric Brown

The Jaguars had been remarkably healthy this season, with no players missing either of the first two games with injuries. The Jaguars listed no players on the injury report leading to a Week 2 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and had no players on the report this week until adding Griffin Friday.

The Jaguars’ other four inactives Sunday:

  • Wide receiver Kendric Pryor
  • Running back Snoop Conner
  • Safety Tyree Gillespie
  • Outside linebacker De’Shaan Dixon
