It was a night when USC didn’t trail until the final minute … and walked off the field without a victory. Such is the exquisite agony being felt by the Trojans after a game which slipped through their fingers.
Utah was a big reason the Trojans didn’t win this game. The Utes were tremendous on offense in the final three quarters after a sluggish first stanza. Cam Rising and Dalton Kincaid were spectacular and deserve every last syllable of praise they are receiving. However, it also stands that USC was the victim of some very controversial — and errant — calls from the officials, particularly two roughing-the-passer calls which extended Utah possessions instead of shifting possession to USC.
