Baltimore, MD – Dorian Thompson-Robinson was selected on Thursday as one of the Top 10 candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in an announcement made by The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc., along with presenting sponsor A. O. Smith Corporation.

The candidates are selected by the distinguished Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, and former players. The award annually recognizes the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. Candidates are chosen based on player performance on-and-off the field.

 

Thompson-Robinson, who is rated second in the nation with a completion percentage of .738, made his 42nd career start last week at Oregon to move into second on UCLA’s all-time list behind only Cade McNown (1995-98), who had 44. He is ranked ninth nationally in passing efficiency at 172.3 (McNown owns the UCLA record with a 168.6 mark in 1997). With 9,313 career passing yards, DTR can move up the all-time school charts with 29 passing yards against Stanford and go past No. 3 Josh Rosen (2015-17) who has 9,341. No. 2 on that list is Brett Hundley (2011-14) who threw for 9,966 yards. Atop the list is Cade McNown (1995-98), who totaled 10,708 passing yards.
