WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – As one of the nation’s leaders in multiple receiving categories, Purdue Football wide receiver Charlie Jones was named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award. Given to college football’s best receiver, regardless of position, Jones became one of 12 semifinalists with a chance to win the trophy.
 
Purdue fans can show their support and vote for Jones to win the Biletnikoff Award. Every fan may vote once daily on the Biletnikoff Award FanVote page. At the end of fan voting, the finalist with the most votes earns one official vote towards winning the award.
 
Making the move to Purdue, Jones has emerged as one of the best receivers in the country. The Iowa transfer ranks third nationally in receptions (93) and receiving touchdowns (11), while ranking sixth in receiving yards (1,056). He leads the Big Ten in all three categories.
 
Boilermakers have a history with the Biletnikoff Award. Taylor Stubblefield won the honor in 2004, while David Bell was a finalist just one season ago. The duo became consensus All-Americans, and Jones is on pace to put up better numbers than both Boilermakers.
 
Jones has recorded six 100-yard games this season, including four in B1G play, to become the sixth Boilermaker to accomplish the feat in a single year. In B1G action, Jones has hauled in a conference-best 8.0 receptions per game to go along with 84.5 receiving yards per league contest.
