The 3-8 Nebraska Cornhuskers have a chance to play spoiler as they visit the 7-4 Iowa Hawkeyes on Black Friday. Iowa can clinch the Big Ten West with a win against the Cornhuskers at Kinnick Stadium this weekend.
The Hawkeyes have one of the top-ranked defenses in college football, surrendering only 13.5 ppg (5th of 131) but have struggled on the offensive side of the ball averaging only 17.5 ppg (124th of 131).
Nebraska has struggled on both sides of the ball through the 2022 season. The Huskers average 22.5 ppg (103rd of 131), while opponents have averaged 28.5 ppg (91st of 131) against the Husker’s defense this year.
The Cornhuskers are entering on a five-game losing streak having last won on October 7th at Rutgers. Iowa started the season with a record of 3-4, including a three-game losing streak (No. 4 Michigan, at Illinois, at No. 2 Ohio State) but have won their last four games. With a victory over Nebraska on Friday, Iowa would win the Big Ten West for the third time in school history, having previously won the West Division in 2015 and 2021.
