With that number, Wegmans donated $5,000 to the United Way of Central New York in a presentation last Friday at the DeWitt Wegmans on E. Gennesee St. in Fayetteville. Gina Gera, Wegmans Vice President of Operations, Syracuse Division, Evelyn Ingram, Wegmans Director of Community Relations, and Nancy Eaton, President of the United Way of Central New York, were on hand to present the check.
“Wegmans is glad to support Syracuse University Football and the community in this effort by donating to the United Way of Central New York through the Sack Hunger initiative,” Ingram said. “This partnership enables Wegmans to provide additional support to support those in need in our community.”
This was the second year of the promotion, which has now raised $10,000 for the United Way of Central New York from Wegmans, thanks to Syracuse’s sacks.
Syracuse Athletics is grateful to Wegmans for their continued support of Orange student-athletes and the United Way.
