For Texas A&M, the 2022 season came to an end on Nov. 26th, as the Aggies crossed the finish line in spectacular fashion after a highly disappointing campaign, defeating the then 5th-ranked LSU Tigers 38-23 in front of 90,000 plus fans to send the program into the offseason with some much-needed momentum.
However, every FBS program in the country knew that the transfer portal reaper would soon be knocking on their door, as Dec. 5th marked the opening of the portal, while Texas A&M felt the brunt of it early. Just a week before, 12 Aggies players announced their intent to transfer, including names such as Defensive end Tunmise Adeleye, Quarterback Haynes King, and Wide receiver. Chase lane, while most of the other players who entered were primary backups or rotational pieces.

After seven players entered on Monday and Tuesday, it looked like the Aggies’ caught a break on Wednesday, until news came late that night after On3 reported that embattled freshman wide receiver Chris Marshall has now officially entered the transfer portal after missing half of the 2022 regular season due to multiple off the field incidents.
This honestly does not come as a surprise, as the former 5-Star prospect joined the historic 2022 recruiting class alongside fellow 5-Star wide receiver Evan Stewart, both looking to make a lasting impression during the inaugural season. Sadly, only Stewart made his mark with the maroon and white, while Marshall missed way too much of the season to truly show his skillset on the big stage, recording 11 receptions for 105 yards in three appearances.
As new scenery awaits, Here’s to hoping Chris Marshall finds his way on and off the gridiron.
