Adam Korsak won the Ray Guy Award, a fitting honor for the Rutgers football punter.
Given to the nation’s top punter, Korsak was one of three finalists for the award last season but he ended up losing to San Diego State’s Matt Araiza. This season, his dominance in the Big Ten was rewarded with recognition with the highly-respected award.
Given out since 2000, Korsak is the first Rutgers punter to win the Ray Guy Award.
Korsak has arguably been the most dominant player to ever suit-up for Rutgers football.
It was another phenomenal season for Korsak, who finished with 33 of his 75 punts inside the 20-yard line. He averaged 44.0 yards per punt.
On Oct. 29 at Minnesota, Korsak had 51.2 yards per punt as well as a 77-yard punt. Both were season-best numbers for the Australian punter.
