The 5-8 Jacksonville Jaguars opened as an underdog against the 10-3 Dallas Cowboys, which should come as a surprise to no one. But the Jaguars aren’t exactly David facing down Goliath either.
On Bet MGM, Jacksonville opened as a 5.5-point underdog against the Cowboys in Week 15 with the point total set at 43.5. The Jaguars are +200 on the moneyline, which translates to them as a 2-to-1 underdog at home against Dallas.
On Sunday, the Cowboys won a fourth straight game, but their 27-23 win over the hapless Houston Texans — which required a last-minute touchdown — was far from a confidence booster.
Alternatively, the Jaguars bounced back from a slow start against the Tennessee Titans and briefly turned into a juggernaut, scoring 29 straight points en route to a 36-22 win.
Still, the Cowboys are top five in both points scored and points allowed, while the Jaguars defense has been plummeting toward the bottom of the league rankings.
