Saturday should be the day the streak ends

Texas A&M Defensive back Antonio Johnson officially announced on Tuesday afternoon through a post on social media that he will be declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft as one of the top defensive prospects, and a potential 1st round pick.

In his statement posted on Twitter, Johnson thanked every individual that has shaped his football life, including his family, mentors, and various coaches as he prepares for his next journey to pursue a career in the NFL.

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for the opportunities He has placed in my life and for
making this day possible. To my family, I wouldn’t be here without you and your never ending love and support. Through the pain and sacrifices, I appreciate you more than you

Elko, Coach Durkin, and Coach Crow. After careful consideration, I have decided to forego my senior season and declare for the 2023
NFL Draft.

As one of the most talented and versatile defensive backs to come to Texas A&M in recent memory, Johnson excelled as the nickel corner, and safety spot during his three seasons with the program, racking up over 164 tackles, 96 solo tackles, 7 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception while finishing second on the team with 71 tackles this season, after missing three games due to injury.
