The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14 of the 2022 season by the final score of 16-14. Many key players stepped up to make massive contributions, including running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as well as inside linebackers Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen.
Another player who made his impact felt was defensive lineman Calais Campbell, who blocked a key field goal that saved three points in a two-point victory. Baltimore special teams coordinator Chris Hewitt was asked about the adjustments that were made on the play where Campbell blocked the kick, talking about how making adjustments over the course of a game is extremely important.
“I think it just comes down to one of those things … After the first one [Pittsburgh field goal attempt], you kind of look at the card, and you kind of see and just make adjustments, just being able to move guys around. I believe that you should be able to make adjustments in games as the game goes on, [and] just kind of look for certain things and just kind of see what’s happening. He’s tall; he’s a big guy, he’s long. You put him in there, but he’s been good for us in other places [too]. It just kind of worked out; it was just a timely play. [We] put him in the right spot, and he got his hand up and it was a huge block for us.”
