Three-star RB Jordan Louie commits to Tar Heels

Tar Heels land four-star DL

National Signing Day has arrived and the UNC football program added more talent to its running back room on Wednesday, receiving a commitment from Jordan Louie.

Louie announced his UNC pledge on Wednesday morning.

Louie is a three-star running back ranked No. 695 in the country in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also rated as the No. 50 overall running back and the No. 67 player in Georgia.

The Norcross (Ga.) Meadowcreek back chose the Tar Heels over West Virginia, where he was originally committed. Louie took an official visit to North Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt this month.

As a senior this past year, Louie rushed for 1,588 yards on nearly 11 yards per carry and 15 touchdowns on the ground. He also added 640 receiving yards on 38 receptions and four more touchdowns.

Louie had other offers from Vanderbilt, Memphis, Arkansas, West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Louisville among others.

He joins a running back room that includes British Brooks, Omarion Hampton,  Elijah Green, Caleb Hood, DJ Jones and George Pettaway. Hood, Hampton and Green all had over 40 carries last year for the Tar Heels.

Louie becomes North Carolina’s 20th commitment of the 2023 class. The Tar Heels currently hold the No. 25 overall class in the country.
