After a long three-quarters of football for Swinney and the Tigers, the team finally found the end zone for the first time in the fourth quarter.
Freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik and sophomore running back Will Shipley looked excellent on the drive, leading Clemson’s offense 12 plays for 71 yards. Klubnik called his own number in the red zone, scoring on a 4-yard touchdown run.
Tennessee made a mental mistake after the touchdown, getting an unsportsmanlike penalty call that put the Tigers in a good position to go for two. Shipley then dove over the top, making the score 21-14 and shrinking the Volunteers’ lead.
Swinney and Clemson are still in the Orange Bowl.
