The Lions have brought in a new offensive assistant coach. Steve Heiden has been hired as Detroit’s tight ends coach.
Heiden held the same role for the Arizona Cardinals for the last four seasons. The 45-year-old Heiden has been with the Cardinals coaching staff since 2013. Like head coach Dan Campbell, Heiden is a former NFL tight end best known for his eight seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
Heiden takes the role of TE coach from Tanner Engstrand, who was also the passing game coordinator in 2022 and remains in that capacity.
