A former Husker celebrated his return home on social media over the weekend. Randy Gregory was welcomed back to Memorial Stadium by Matt Rhule and company.
The former Blackshirt was initially one of the top recruits out of the state of Indiana and even drew interest from some Division I basketball teams. He would attend Arizona Western College before transferring to Nebraska.
In two seasons at Nebraska, Gregory had 120 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 17.5 sacks. He was first-team All-Big Ten both seasons and a third-team AP All-American in 2014.
He would forgo his senior season and enter the 2015 NFL Draft. Gregory would be taken in the second round by the Dallas Cowboys. The Indiana native played in Dallas from 2015-2021 and most recently played for the Denver Broncos.
