In front of NFL teams that had a representative in Blacksburg, the Hokies started their day off with the bench press and followed with the vertical jump, and that’s been their focus the last few months leading up to this.
“Just run fast and jump high,” offensive lineman Silas Dzansi said when asked on what his goals were heading into today. “Really try to show off my athleticism in my position work. I feel like I accomplished that.”
Dzansi and 10 other Hokies competed in the drills and workouts, which also took place in the Beamer-Lawson Indoor Practice Facility. But there were some other Hokies in attendance who were not participating, ones who were in their shoes before.
Three current NFL players showed up to support their former teammates, including Carolina Panther AmarΓ© Barno, Tennessee Titan Caleb Farley and Green Bay Packer Luke Tenuta. All three enjoyed being back and had to give Hokie Nation a shout out.

Linebacker Dax Hollifield explained how most guys tried to come into today being ‘light’, so they could run fast 40-yard dash times, as well as past the eye test. Players got their height, weight, hand size, arm length and wingspan measured, while also doing drill work to show their flexibility of their hips, change of direction and a few speed and agility testing.
Next up for the 11 Hokies who participated in Pro Day will be the NFL Draft, which takes place April 27-29 in Kansas City. The first round begins at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network, ABC and ESPN.
