As NFL free agency has cooled considerably over the past month, people are again shifting gears and putting their full attention into the 2023 NFL draft.
Are you tired of hearing about this draft, how strong the class is, and how big of an opportunity Clemson has in this upcoming draft? Good, me neither! This upcoming draft is a massive one for the program as the Tigers have an opportunity to see multiple former players hear their names called in the first round.
CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards recently released his latest 2023 NFL mock draft, with two Tigers being selected back to back in the top 15 picks of the draft. Here is where Edwards had them land and what he had to say about the pair.
Myles Murphy – Defensive End
Pick: No.12, Houston Texans
What Edwards had to say:
With extra picks from Cleveland, Houston has been able to rebuild its roster. Myles Murphy has been dinged a bit as the process has lingered but this is a pass rusher with an excellent athletic profile. Although the 2022 tape was not as good as the prior year, Murphy still has a lot of untapped potential.

The Clemson Edge has been drawing several comparisons to last year’s first overall pick, Travon Walker.
Today, Murphy weighed in at 6’5”, 271 pounds, ran a 4.51 40-Yard Dash, 7.20 3-Cone, and 4.35 Shuttle.

Bryan Bresee – Defensive Tackle
Pick: No.13, New York Jets
What Edwards had to say:
A second consecutive Clemson defender is taken as the Jets pair Quinnen Williams with Bryan Bresee. Head coach Robert Saleh comes from an environment in San Francisco that believes a team can never add too much along the defensive front.
