The first quarterback Mel Tucker recruited since joining Michigan State football has entered the NCAA transfer portal. On Tuesday, a program spokesman confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that Hamp Fay, who was a 3-star quarterback prospect back in 2021 but has been listed as a tight end of late, has entered the portal.
Fay hasn’t played in a game for the Spartans in two seasons as they tried to help him find a position he could fit at, after it became clear he was buried on the quarterback depth chart by Katin Houser, Noah Kim, and Payton Thorne.
