Drew Carter, two others join transfer portal in mass Buffs exodus

Drew Carter, two others join transfer portal in mass Buffs exodus

The Colorado Buffaloes football team has undergone a staggering number of changes this offseason. Shortly after the spring game, a flurry of Colorado players transferred out. Montana Lemonious-Craig was one of the biggest names to depart.

Now, offensive linemen Luke Eckardt, Yousef Mugharbil and backup quarterback Drew Carter have entered the portal, per Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede.

The Buffs have remained as a talking point, and they have added dozens of players, including Florida State transfer defensive lineman Derrick McLendon.

Despite a flood of rumors swirling around the players who left, the Buffs are still active on the market.

Eckardt is a freshman who was formerly at Arizona. Mugharbil transferred in from Florida earlier this offseason, but both will now look for opportunities elsewhere. Carter was in a logjam of quarterbacks, so his decision to leave Boulder makes sense.

As the spring transfer portal swirls and rumors fly about Coach Prime, we could see more and more players leave, although, with each passing day, the Buffs add talented players via the portal.
