Jacksonville Jaguars draft Ray Vohasek

Another former North Carolina Tar Heel football player has heard his name called in the 2023 NFL draft. And it’s the second UNC player to hear it called in the seventh round.

Just a few picks after Antoine Green went to the Detroit Lions in the seventh round at No. 219 overall, his teammate Ray Vohasek went at No. 227 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Illinois native spent four years at North Carolina, transferring in from a small school to join the Tar Heels. By the time he left, he was a leader on the defensive line and one of UNC’s more productive players.

Vohasek finished his career at UNC with 96 total tackles 18.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

North Carolina saw Josh Downs go in the third round followed by Asim Richards in the fifth round and then Green and Vohasek in the seventh.
