The Washington offensive line was announced Tuesday as one of the 12 semifinalists for the 2023 Joe Moore Award, given to the top offensive line unit in college football.
Led by offensive line coach Scott Huff, the Huskies average 503.9 yards per game which is sixth nationally and first overall in passing offense (378.0). Six players make up the bulk of the group including Troy Fautanu, Roger Rosengarten, Parker Brailsford, Nate Kalepo, Julius Buelow and Geirean Hatchett.
The offensive line has allowed just seven sacks in 10 games (0.76 per game) and only 36 tackles for loss. Washington is fourth in the nation in fewest sacks allowed.
The Joe Moore Award finalists will be named on Tuesday, December 5. The eventual winner will be recognized in the ensuing weeks during a surprise, on campus visit to the winning unit’s school.
