COLUMBIA, Mo. – Three University of Missouri football student-athletes, RB Cody Schrader (offense), LB Triston Newson (defense) and DT Jay Jernigan (defensive line) earned weekly accolades from the Southeastern Conference for the final week of the regular season, the league office announced Monday.
The Tigers retained the Battle Line Rivalry Trophy with a dominating 48-14 road win at Arkansas on Friday.
OFFENSE – CODY SCHRADER, RB
- Rushed for a Mizzou career high of 217 yards and a TD to hike his season total to 1,489 yards in the regular-season finale at Arkansas as Mizzou held on to the Battle Line Rivalry Trophy.
- Up to third on the Tigers’ single-season rushing chart, passing Brad Smith’s 2003 total of 1,406 yards.
- Moved to within 115 yards of Tyler Badie’s Mizzou single-season rushing record (1,604 in 2021).
- Schrader logged 192 yards in the first half alone. That total would rank as his second-best game of the season (entering the contest) behind his 205-yard effort vs. Tennessee on Nov. 11.
- Rushed for an average of 8.0 yards per carry, the highest of his MU career when logging at least 15 carries.
- Mizzou’s offense moved to within 11 Schrader rushing yards of achieving a program first: a 3,000-yard passer (Cook), a 1,000-yard receiver (Burden) and a 1,500-yard rusher (Schrader).
