CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington was included as a second team honoree on Sports Illustrated’s 2023 College Football All-America Team. It marks the third outlet to feature Washington as an All-American.
Washington, who earlier in the day was named the TD Club of Richmond’s Offensive End of the Year, put forth the best receiving season in Virginia football history. He caught 110 passes (school record) for 1,426 receiving yards (school record) and nine touchdowns. He had 100-yard games in 10 of the 12 games he played on this year, the most by a UVA wide receiver in a season and a career. The 110 receptions are the most in the country and the most ever by an ACC player. Washington accumulated 1,706 all-purpose yards (1,426 rec. & 273 KR), the most of any ACC player, the fourth-most of any player in the country and the fifth-most in a single-season in UVA history.
