In 2021, Izzo took over as Seattle’s special teams coordinator, after spending 2018-2020 as an assistant. The Rice University alum spent 14 seasons as a linebacker and special teams ace, winning three Super Bowl championships (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX) with the New England Patriots in the 2000’s. Now as Seattle’s special teams leader, Izzo’s unit earns a top-10 spot for the fourth-consecutive season on Gosselin’s list. Twenty-two kicking-game categories help makeup the criteria for Gosselin’s point system, from kickoff return yardage, to blocked field goal attempts to punt yardage. With 300 points, Seattle lands at sixth amongst their 31 league counterparts, shining in a variety of individual and team categories.
