Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback Carson Beck announced that he’d be returning to Georgia for a fifth season back in December. Now, Beck is preparing for the 2024 college football season.
Carson Beck talked about his return with former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, who now works for The Players’ Lounge. Beck mentioned that having the opportunity to play is a big reason why he decided to come back to Athens. If he entered the 2024 NFL draft, then there would be no guarantee that he’d be the starter at the next level.
Beck, a senior, finished the 2023 season with the second-most passing yards in an individual season in Georgia history. The former four-star recruit patiently waited his turn to start after sitting behind Stetson Bennett for much of 2021 and 2022. Now, he is entering the 2024 season knowing that he’s the guy.
Beck mentions that he is focusing on improving, “How do I work even harder than I ever have before? How do I still maintain that hunger coming off of a season where (you know) I think I did well? It is pretty much just trying to eliminate any type of complacency and also finding that leadership role.”
