Sports Illustrated has seven Longhorns drafted in first three rounds

We’re under three months away from the start of the 2024 NFL draft.

The Longhorns have come a long way after witnessing zero players selected in the 2022 NFL draft. Under Steve Sarkisian’s development, Texas could have 10 players selected in the upcoming draft.

The majority of draft prospects out of Texas are projected to be selected within the first three rounds. Luke Easterling of Sports Illustrated released his first three-round NFL mock draft on Wednesday and projects seven Longhorns to be selected within the first two days of the draft.

Texas offensive tackle Christian Jones significantly increased his draft stock with a good showing at the Senior Bowl, while defensive tackle Byron Murphy continues to be mocked as a first-round selection.

Outside of these seven players, Jaylan Ford, Jordan Whittington and Ryan Watts could be the next Texas players taken off the board.

Here’s a look at where Easterling projects several Longhorns to land.
