Ex-New York Giants TE Jake Ballard roasted by comedian

There’s been a trend circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, recently. Users are asked to name random or forgotten players at specific positions — punters, wide receivers and tight ends have been the most prominent.

When it comes to tight ends, how about retired New York Giants tight end and Super Bowl champion, Jake Ballard?

Ballard was a prominent figure for the Giants after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Although his rookie season was entirely unforgettable, he burst onto the scene in 2011, hauling in 38 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns.

The 6-foot-7 Ballard was targeted 15 times in the playoffs that year but things came to an unfortunate end when he suffered a torn ACL in Super Bowl XLVI.

Although Ballard got his ring, his career was never able to recover. He had brief stints with the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals before ultimately stepping away from the game.

Earlier this week, Ballard resurfaced at a comedy show featuring Gianmarco Soresi, who proceeded to thoroughly roast the tight end and his wife.

Both Ballard and his wife were good sports about the whole thing and the crowd enjoyed the exchange.
