It has been an offseason of Alabama’s losses and Ohio State football’s gain, and on Sunday, it happened again.
General Manager/Associate Athletic Director for player personnel, Mark Pantoni, is one of the best in the business and his staff just got stronger with the news that the Buckeyes will hire Sam Petitto away from the Crimson Tide.
Petitto was the director of personnel operations the last eight years for Nick Saban, but as he retired and Kalen DeBoers brought in his new staff, the writing was on the wall that a move was going to be made.
With recruiting still being the lifeblood of any program, when you can get someone of Petitto’s caliber to join the staff after an extremely impressive résumé from Alabama, you take him.
Sources tell @alexgleitman and @LettermenRow that Ohio State is hiring Alabama staffer Sam Petitto to a front-office role.

Even though the hire hasn’t been made official yet, it’s already making positive waves on the recruiting trail. Check out what 5-star cornerback Devin Sanchez’s mother Dee said about the hire.
