A player with only one year of production into his senior season, Xavier Legette put it all on the line this past season after missing playing time his previous few seasons due to various circumstances. Legette made the most of this opportunity, coming away as the clear big play threat in the South Carolina offense and flashing a unique skillset that translates well to the next level.
Legette has legit speed and physicality at the position, running like a freight train once he breaks into the second level and simply looking impossible to catch. Legette ramps up to his second gear and it can be deceiving for defensive backs causing poor tackling angles and missed tackles. Once Legette has the ball in his hands, it is extremely difficult to get to the ground, using his raw strength and leverage to bowl through tacklers or forcibly remove them with a mean, stiff arm. Legette was consistently a big play waiting to happen this last season, and seemed like anytime he touched the football a chunk play followed.
That same physicality translates to contested catches, as Legette excels at attacking the football and snapping the ball out of the air with his powerful hands. Legette is able to adjust his body and make the big play wherever the ball is in his vicinity, making himself a large passing window.
In his final college season Legette was consistent in his performances, routinely smashing through secondaries and putting up a monster season with 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns on 71 catches.
