The Tennessee Titans have made a massive addition to their secondary, with the team reportedly acquiring cornerback L’Jarius Sneed in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tennessee is sending a 2025 third-round pick and swapping 2024 seventh-round selections with the Chiefs in the deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and the Titans are inking Sneed to a four-year contract extension that is worth $19 million annually and includes $55 million guaranteed, per Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.
Tennessee was rumored to be involved in a Sneed trade for quite some time, but the reported holdup was the cornerback’s demands in a contract extension, which were said to be $22 million annually.
Not only did the Titans not pay that much, the draft compensation was more than fair for a player who has emerged as one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL in recent years.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this deal.
Not only have the Titans seriously beefed up their secondary, making it one of the better units in the NFL on paper, they did so with a reasonable compensation package and contract extension that will keep Sneed around for the long haul.
Now, a look at how Twitter reacted to the news of the Titans’ trade with the Chiefs for Sneed.
