Full Chiefs 7-round mock after L’Jarius Sneed trade

The Kansas City Chiefs will be without L’Jarius Sneed in 2024 after the star defensive back was traded to the Tennessee Titans over the weekend.

While there had been plenty of speculation about Sneed’s future in the early stages of the offseason, Brett Veach’s decision to cut him loose for a modest return shocked some fans and analysts who thought he would command a king’s ransom on the trade market.

Without Sneed on the roster, Kansas City has a glaring need for a cornerback to start opposite Trent McDuffie in the Chiefs’ secondary. The 2024 NFL Draft class is chock-full of talented defensive backs, but with the No. 32 selection in the first round, it may be a stretch to think that Kansas City could secure one of the top cornerback prospects without a trade-up.

Check out this full seven-round mock draft to see who the Chiefs might be able to pick to cope with the loss of Sneed and shore up other areas of their roster:

Rakestraw would be a dream pick for many fans in Chiefs Kingdom, and after Kansas City parted ways with Sneed, Brett Veach could be forgiven for looking to the pool of talent in Columbia, Missouri for his first pick in the draft. It isn’t likely that the Chiefs can replace Sneed’s productivity with a rookie, but Rakestraw has the potential to develop into a lockdown cornerback.

By selecting Amegadjie in the second round, Kansas City would give itself a day-one starter with the upside to become an anchor on the Chiefs’ offensive line for years to come. While he is still a bit raw after playing in the Ivy League, Amegadjie has all the tools needed to have a long career in the NFL.
